Job summary

A regional housing association based in Selkirk is seeking a Clerk of Works to ensure quality in construction and compliance across their projects. The successful candidate will carry out site inspections, manage health and safety compliance, and foster collaboration with contractors. Clerk of Works

Salary: £37,422 – £41,335 per year
Location: Selkirk Office, with travel across the Scottish Borders
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week
Contract: Permanent

What you'll do:
  • Carry out regular site inspections, ensuring all works meet SBHA's high standard and regulatory requirements.

  • Build strong relationships with contractors and colleagues, fostering a collaborative approach to problem-solving.

  • Oversee health and safety compliance, reporting and resolving issues swiftly.

  • Coordinate handovers, ensuring homes are defect-free and ready for tenants.

  • SBHA at meetings, with residents and during inspections.

What you'll bring:
  • HND/C or equivalentin Building (or substantialrelevant experience).

  • Significant construction and property experience.

  • A keen eye for quality and detail, with a commitment to excellence.

  • Experience in inspecting workmanship.

  • Strong communication and IT skills.

  • Knowledge of affordable housing delivery

  • A collaborative, proactive approach and a full UK driving licence.
