Clerk of Works

Salary: £37,422 – £41,335 per year

Location: Selkirk Office, with travel across the Scottish Borders

Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week

Contract: Permanent

What you’ll do:
  • Carry out regular site inspections, ensuring all works meet SBHA's high standard and regulatory requirements.
  • Build strong relationships with contractors and colleagues, fostering a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
  • Oversee health and safety compliance, reporting and resolving issues swiftly.
  • Coordinate handovers, ensuring homes are defect‑free and ready for tenants.
  • Represent SBHA at meetings, with residents and during inspections.
What you’ll bring:
  • HND/C or equivalent in Building (or substantial relevant experience).
  • Significant construction and property experience.
  • A keen eye for quality and detail, with a commitment to excellence.
  • Experience in inspecting workmanship.
  • Strong communication and IT skills.
  • Knowledge of affordable housing delivery
  • A collaborative, proactive approach and a full UK driving licence.
