A Local Authority Maintained Nursery School in the United Kingdom is seeking a dedicated childcare assistant to support a key group of children aged 2 to 4. The role operates 32.5 hours a week during term time, Monday to Friday. Applicants must hold an NVQ level 2 or 3 in childcare and possess strong communication skills. 6.5 hours a day (32.5 hours per week - 8.00am to 3.0pm, 5 days a week Term Time only plus 5 training days)
Grade 3, points 6 to 9– Approx £1,772 to £1,857 per month

Gainsborough Nursery School is an Local Authority Maintained Nursery School and we are looking for a childcare assistant to join our small, friendly and dedicated staff team.
The position is for 32.5 hours a week, Monday to Friday 8.00am – 3.00pm, during term time plus attendance at training days. There may be overtime available on a week by week basis pending the needs of the school.
You must have an NVQ level 2 or 3 in childcare or a similar qualification
The position is to support the class team across our classrooms of 2, 3 and 4 year olds. You will have responsibility for a key group of children and along with our team you will support children with additional needs.
You will work under the direction of our excellent teachers, room leaders and alongside our teaching assistants who will support you. However, the ability to work on your own initiative is essential as you will be expected to use it to support children’s learning and development on a daily basis through small group sessions and during continuous provision. It is desirable that applicants will have good working knowledge of child development as well as previous experience of planning and assessing with reference to the EYFS curriculum.
You must have a passion for helping with children’s learning and a love of spending time following in the playful pursuits of 2, 3- and 4-year olds! You must be patient, kind and a great listener of children. Calmness, a good sense of humour and the ability to build relationships are essential qualities. You will work inside and in our lovely outdoor areas all year round.
The post also requires good literacy skills and excellent communication skills as you will be expected to liaise with other team members, parents and other professionals from time to time.
