Job summary

A leading animation studio is seeking talented Character Lookdev Artists to join their remote team. The successful candidates will be responsible for shading and texturing stylized 3D human and animal characters for the upcoming project THE AMAZING MAURICE 2. They will need a minimum of two years of production experience, expertise in Adobe Substance 3D, and a commitment to high quality. Preference will be given to UK-based candidates.

Qualifications

• Two years of production experience minimum.
• Experience with Adobe Substance 3D and Maya.
• Strong communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Shade and texture stylized 3D characters from concept art.
• Ensure quality and aesthetic standards are met.
• Collaborate with the groom team for high-quality assets.

Red Star is looking for talented Character Lookdev Artists to work remotely on our production of THE AMAZING MAURICE 2. Candidates must be based in the UK or the EU.

The Job

• Shading and texturing of stylised 3D human and animal characters from concept art
• Retaining the quality and aesthetic standard of the original THE AMAZING MAURICE film
• Working closely with the groom team to deliver high quality assets
• Quality control on publishing of character assets

Must Have

• Experience using Adobe Substance 3D / Substance Painter
• Experience with Maya & Arnold
• Ability to work to deadlinesStrong communication skills
• Two years production experience (minimum)

Nice To Have

• Experience with Yeti
• Understanding of CGI lighting and compositing
• Feature film experience

• Experience level: LEAD / SENIOR / MID
• Contract term: January - August 26
• Salary: negotiable
• Due to project funding, candidates must be physically based in the UK or EU to be eligible. UK-based candidates will receive strong preference.
