Job summary

A safety supplies company located in Ashington is seeking an engineering analyst to work closely with design engineers. The role involves thermal analysis, using CFD tools, and generating technical reports. Strong communication and analytical skills are required, along with experience in design and manufacturing environments. Knowledge in thermodynamics and CAD will be beneficial. This position is on-site.

Qualifications

  • 3 to 4 years of engineering experience in analysis, design, and manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with CFD tools for analysing concepts and designs.
  • Basic knowledge of thermodynamics and electrical engineering aspects is considered beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Analyse thermal concepts and designs with internal Design Engineers.
  • Carry out thermal analysis and prepare technical reports.
  • Support customer meetings, discussing results of the analysis.

Job Description
  • To work with internal Design Engineers to analyse, in detail, thermal concepts and designs.
  • To carry out thermal analysis and create technical reports based on the results of the CFD analysis.
  • To support and participate in customer meetings/reviews, discussing the results of the analysis.
  • To liaise with Design Engineering to ensure a robust understanding of the CFD results.
  • To work with and support the Sales Department function, if required.
  • To ensure that Customer related information is maintained and archived in accordance with Departmental procedures.
  • To work with due regard to Health and Safety requirements.

To ensure that 5S housekeeping targets are achieved in areas of control.

Experience
  • Up to 3 to 4 years engineering experience in an analysis, design, development and manufacturing environment.
  • Familiar with the use of CFD tools to analyse concepts and designs
  • Familiar with the use of CAD to generate 3D models and 2D drawings.
Skill & Knowledge Requirements
  • Highly numerate and computer literate
  • Excellent analytical problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills
Knowledge
  • Knowledge and experience of using CFD software.
  • Whilst not essential, a knowledge of thermodynamics would be useful.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical and electronic aspects of engineering to enable analysis to be conducted would be useful.
  • Commercially aware with regard to design and development of product
