This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic Cemeteries Manager to join our Parks and Countryside team.

The Role

To implement the council’s policies and standards for the efficient and effective management of Cemeteries.

Your role will involve

To implement the council’s policies and standards for the efficient and effective management of Cemeteries and the day-to-day management and maintenance of these services including supervision and monitoring of cemetery services within the Grounds Maintenance Contract.

Overall responsibility for ensuring that the council’s Cemetery Service is developed and delivered within statutory requirements and that the needs of bereaved families are sensitively managed.

Communicate/Liaise with residents, Councillors, users and external organisations on service delivery.

To identify and implement improvements in service delivery.

What we are looking for
  • Educated to GCSE English language and Maths.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Excel Word and PowerPoint.
  • High level of sensitive interpersonal skills and empathy
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work positively with residents, community groups and contractors
  • Ability to develop and manage strong and effective partnerships
  • Good negotiation skills
