Job description

Are you passionate about bringing hope, compassion, and spiritual support to those in need? We are looking for a dedicated Catholic Chaplain to join our Chaplaincy team at Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust (RDASH), where your presence and care will make a real difference every day.

Responsibilities
  • Provide and facilitate spiritual, pastoral, and religious care for patients, families, staff, students, and visitors.
  • Manage your own caseload, supporting individuals with diverse and complex needs across our Trust and the services it delivers.
  • Contribute to the growth and development of the Chaplaincy Department, working collaboratively with colleagues of all faiths and beliefs.
  • Take part in projects directed by the Lead Chaplain, helping shape how chaplaincy responds to the challenges of modern healthcare.
  • Serve as a specialist resource for the Trust on spiritual, ethical, and religious matters, offering guidance and insight where it is most needed.
  • Provide one-to-one and group pastoral support, prayer, and sacramental ministry for patients, staff, and families.
  • Respond sensitively to people in crisis, offering reassurance, listening, and comfort in often complex and emotionally demanding situations.
  • Work with patients who present with diverse and sometimes challenging mental health or learning disability needs, adapting your approach to meet them where they are.
