Carrier Coordinator

Group

Reporting to: Carrier Manager

Location: Kingsway

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Role Overview: The Carrier Coordinator is responsible for monitoring trailer collections in and out of all JD warehouses, as well as any operational day to day processes between warehouse and carrier. As Carrier Coordinator they will be responsible for ensuring trailer fill rate and utilisation is recorded against plan and attending daily calls with peers to maintain or improve this metric. The Carrier Coordinator will maintain the trailer schedule and ensure records are up to date to allow for informed decision making.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Trailer schedules for all JD warehouses and carriers
• Monitor and record trailer departures and arrivals into warehouse and carrier
• Attend daily calls with warehouse teams to discuss plan and timings
• Monitor and record trailer utilisation across each carrier and warehouse
• Control the trailer management proactively adjusting based on demand
• Support Carrier Analyst/Manager with accurate metrics and incident reporting
• Out of Hours process and escalation plan with carrier and warehouse teams
• First point of contact for trailer issues/delays
• First point of contact for warehouse despatch issues related to carrier
• Monitor carrier assets and usage in warehouse

Skill/Experience/Knowledge Needed:

• Organisation skills and accurate record keeping
• Ideally beginner use of excel and comfortable using Microsoft Office
• Comfortable talking with different teams and suppliers each day
• Comfortable with monitoring a plan and taking
• Strong people skills with clear written and oral communication capabilities
