Overview

Able to follow and understand directions, work independently or with others, follow safety procedures, and read drawings/blueprints with general understanding. Responsibilities include placing, finishing, vibrating and curing concrete; basic knowledge of concrete forms and falsework erection; recognizing problem areas and communicating them; understanding form bracing and pressures from concrete; safety-focused with knowledge of torch setup, crane signals and rigging skills; dependable with ability to plan ahead and delegate for a crew of 3–5 people. Tools required: tape measure, hammer, pencil, square, apron, knife and level. A resident of New England is preferred.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

• Ability to read drawings/blueprints with general understanding
• Knowledge of formwork erection, bracing and pressure from concrete
• Ability to place, finish, vibrate and cure concrete
• Knowledge of torch setup and operation; crane signals and rigging skills
• Ability to recognize problem areas and point them out to others; solve most problems independently
• Ability to determine sequencing for form erection
• Capable of acting as crew leader for 3–5 people; plan ahead and delegate work assignments
• Ensure work site safety and that subordinates work safely
• Rigging experience; set up for safety (knows rules and regulations)
• Ability to read and interpret safety and work instructions
• Ability to read drawings/blueprints with general understanding
• Flexibility to handle responsibilities on a construction site
• Tools required: tape measure, hammer, pencil, square, apron, knife and level
• A resident of New England is preferred
