About The Role
  • Role: Caretaker
  • Location: Astley Hall & Worden Hall
  • Contract: Part Time (16.5 hours per week) / Permanent
  • Salary: £25,989 - £26,403 pro rata (£11,829 - £12,017)
  • Closing Date: 11 January 2026

We are seeking a practical and skilled Caretaker with experience in maintaining a safe and clean environment and excellent customer service skills. You will assist the Facilities team in providing cover for the day-to-day operation and security of the Council’s operational assets.

You’ll have the opportunity to work across the Councils' varied sites and work across teams.

What you’ll be getting up to
  • Security and Usage: Ensure the security and proper use of the Operational Assets and their contents.
  • Opening and Closing: Open the Operational Assets prior to usage and secure them following usage, by arrangement with the Facilities team.
  • Maintenance: Maintain the Operational Assets in a clean and safe condition, to the standards agreed, and undertake minor repairs.
  • Health and Safety: Assist the Facilities team in meeting all Health and Safety requirements within the Operational Assets.
  • Asset Coverage: Cover Council-wide assets such as bowling huts, pavilions, and other associated buildings as required.
  • Inductions: Carry out and record hirer inductions, including Health & Safety briefings.
  • Contractor Access: Arrange access for contractors.
Who we’re looking for
  • Experience: Cleaning and securing buildings, supporting colleagues, and presenting information in appropriate formats.
  • Skills: Excellent communication skills, ability to travel between sites when required, and working across teams in a positive and constructive manner to achieve results.
    Other requirements
    • This role requires you to regularly use a vehicle; therefore you must possess a valid UK Driving Licence.
