What We Do

We are committed to providing high quality care for people in the comfort of their own homes (as an alternative to residential care) throughout Newport and the surrounding area of South Monmouthshire. This means that you will need to drive and have your own vehicle to work for us.

While many companies only pay Care Assistants for contact time, we believe that you should be paid for every minute that you work. That's why we pay our carers for travel time and mileage too.

Roles & Responsibilities of a Care Assistant

Including but not limited to:

  • Providing personal care
  • Administering medication
  • Manual handling - using equipment where required
  • Promoting customer health and wellbeing
  • Providing companionship and help with activities/appointments
  • Planning, preparing and cooking meals
  • Shopping and undertaking domestic tasks around the home
Your Experience and Suitability for the Care Assistant Role

Previous experience as a carer isn't necessary. We will provide you with all the training and support you will need, together with ongoing coaching/mentoring.

To become a Bluebird Care Assistant, you will need:

  • A full and valid UK driving licence
  • Access to a car/vehicle
  • The right to work in the UK (unfortunately we cannot provide sponsorship)
  • An excellent level of English
  • To be aged 18+
Because We Care About You

We deliver care 7 days/week and 365 days/year between the hours of 7am - 10pm.

We will always try to be flexible, but we will require you to work every other weekend.
