A healthcare organization in Melksham, United Kingdom, is seeking a passionate Youth Worker to support mental health projects for underrepresented youth groups. This full-time role involves auditing CAMHS provisions, designing effective outreach strategies, and collaborating with community partners to improve access to services. Applicants should have a minimum level 6 youth worker qualification, IT and communication skills, and a strong interest in mental health. Competitive benefits include progression opportunities and 27+ days of annual leave.
Are you an experienced Youth Worker seeking a new opportunity helping support hard-to-reach youth groups?
We are pleased to offer a one-year fixed-term Youth Worker role, on a full time basis within CAMHS, to support a Health Inequalities project. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Youth Worker who is looking for a varied role and to make a difference to the mental health needs of varying communities and groups.
You will help explore the causes and barriers preventing certain groups from accessing our services and identify ways to improve access for hard-to-reach groups, including boys, ethnic minorities, Roma communities, the global majority, and young people out of education.
We are particularly concerned that mental health issues and trauma may be overlooked in adolescent boys, who are more often referred to drug and alcohol or youth justice services.
The project aims to collect data on access obstacles and trial pilot projects to boost engagement from underrepresented groups. You will also audit the representation of diverse children and young people across BaNES, Swindon, and Wiltshire (BSW).
You will need to work flexibly to meet the needs of the service and those of the communities served.
We are seeking to employ a Youth Worker who has a strong interest in mental health and addressing health inequalities.
