Overview

Join to apply for the CAD Technician role at RPS. We are recruiting a CAD Technician to join our Water Consultancy team operating across the UK. You’ll work on AMP8 and AMP9 projects, ensuring high-quality water services in a collaborative environment. RPS Water Consulting undertakes a broad range of projects including urban drainage and water quality modelling studies; WINEP, SOAF, DWMPs and catchment investment planning; and the development of engineering solutions from feasibility through to outline and detailed design.

RPS Water Consulting is a team of engineers, designers, modellers, and data analysts providing asset management and operational strategy development to our water industry clients.

Responsibilities
  • Work on a wide variety of projects across major long-term frameworks with water companies and contractors across the UK.
  • Seek to achieve positive outcomes for the projects and community.
  • Work closely with other senior and principal engineers and other stakeholders supporting project delivery.
  • Prepare and produce engineering drawings, and assist engineers in preparation of technical details.
  • Assist in training junior staff or new team members on CAD software and best practices.
  • Ensure quality assurance systems and procedures are followed.
  • Compliance with and development of CAD standards and standard CAD blocks.
Qualifications
  • HNC in a relevant engineering subject or equivalent
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and similar packages for creating and modifying technical drawings
  • Experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Revit would be an advantage
  • Experience in civil and structural design, reinforcement detailing and MEICA design
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in drawings and compliance with industry standards
  • Understanding of relevant regulations, standards, and best practices in the water industry
  • Familiarity with construction methods and materials used in water infrastructure projects (pipelines, treatment plants, storage facilities)
  • Familiarity with BIM and integration of CAD with data management software and add-ins, including intelligent P+IDs
  • A full driving licence
