Role Overview

Company: Electrical & data cable manufacturer (deep‑sea / hazardous‑area products).

Electrical Design Engineer – Borehamwood, Herts (Permanent)

The role involves progressing Electrical Engineering contracts from inception to installation with the HVAC industry. It is office/workshop based.

Key Responsibilities
  • Working with Production team with progressing contracts from inception to delivery.
  • Designing control circuits for boiler related equipment.
  • Communicating with project team members and collaborating with suppliers and Group factories and Technical Departments.
  • Compiling manuals.
  • Use of AutoCAD, and P&IDs.
  • Preparing & revising electrical and associated mechanical drawings including Circuit Diagrams and Panel Layout Drawings, and Site Wiring Diagrams.

Requirements
  • Qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (HND or Degree level).
  • Strong electrical design skills with experience across low‑voltage or circuit protection systems.
  • Sound understanding of UK electrical standards and compliance requirements.
  • Proficient in 2D/3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, or PTC Creo.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel; knowledge of ERP or MRP systems advantageous.
