You’ll be the expert voice on seafood within our manufacturing and retail operations, helping to optimise everything from sourcing and quality assessments, yield, waste reduction, and colleague training.

This is a fast‑paced, hands‑on role where your decisions will directly impact product quality, availability, and margin.

What You’ll Do
  • Define and implement best‑in‑class operating procedures across the seafood division
  • Ensure all seafood products meet Myton’s food safety and quality standards
  • Build strong relationships with suppliers and maintain a supply base that consistently delivers quality and value
  • Keep up to date with seafood trends and consumer preferences to inform decisions, produce reports for our customers and make recommendations
  • Identify and implement process improvements across manufacturing and retail to boost yield, reduce waste and improve profitability
  • Benchmark our products against competitors, lead taste panels, and act on customer feedback to elevate our fish offering
  • Train and upskill colleagues in fish handling, display and quality standards
  • Partner with site and retail teams to enhance service, availability, cleanliness and overall standards
  • Drive category sales and profitability by improving quality, service and operational efficiency
About You

We’re after someone with a deep understanding of both fish manufacturing and retail operations — a person who thrives on improving standards and inspiring others to deliver excellence.

  • A strong network with in-depth knowledge of the UK and international seafood industry
  • Experience working within fresh food retail, ideally in fish or seafood
  • Proven success in driving manufacturing efficiencies and waste reduction
  • Strong influencing, relationship‑building and communication skills
  • Analytical mindset – confident using data to drive decisions
  • Excellent training and coaching ability
  • A full driving licence and willingness to travel and work flexibly (including retail hours)
