About the Role

Business Systems Manager – Drive IT Innovation Across EMEA at GES

Are you a hands-on Business Systems Manager ready to deliver the future of IT solutions across a dynamic global organisation? Join the EMEA IT Applications team at Global Experience Specialists (GES) and play a leading role in driving the transformation of our business systems landscape. You’ll work closely with business leaders to identify, define, and deliver smart, scalable, and high-impact technical solutions – all while supporting some of the most exciting live experiences across the region. This role is ideal for a hands-on technical leader with a strong background in systems, technical solution delivery, and continuous improvement — someone who thrives in a high-tempo, business-critical environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Shape the Systems Landscape: Develop a deep understanding of our business systems and define technical improvement plans that meet current and future business needs.
  • Partner for Change: Work closely with business stakeholders to translate their needs into technical solutions that enhance productivity, scalability, and automation.
  • Deliver Best-in-Class Solutions: Provide clear guidance on technical capabilities, aligning solutions with business value and simplifying complexity wherever possible.
  • Technical Project Leadership: Lead & own system implementations, development, and integrations end-to-end, ensuring strong governance, quality, and business alignment.
  • Drive Innovation: Own and evolve a product roadmap that incorporates automation and AI capabilities as key pillars for transformation.
  • Lifecycle & Data Strategy: Plan application lifecycle management (ALM), ensuring proactive upgrades, exits, and robust data governance and security across all systems.
  • Commercial: Oversee suppliers and partners to ensure delivery meets contractual and operational requirements.
  • Proof of Concepts & Research: Lead on PoC initiatives that demonstrate innovation and the art of the possible using emerging technologies
  • Documentation: Develop key IT artefacts to enable teams to create, test, deploy & support applications efficiently, including system architecture, processes, and integration.
  • Quality & Compliance: Ensure all system developments undergo rigorous QA, regression testing, and align with frameworks such as GDPR, SOX, and ITIL.
What We’re Looking For
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • 10+ years in Business Systems or Technical Solutions roles.
    • 5+ years in technical leadership or software delivery management.
    • Proven success managing proprietary and custom-built systems.
  • Technical Skills:
    • System administration, configuration, and integration experience.
    • API integrations & iPaaS tools (e.g., AIS, Zapier).
    • Familiarity with Azure, AWS, or GCP.
    • Strong SQL/query language capabilities.
    • Experience with BI platforms (e.g., Power BI), and data warehousing.
    • Azure App Services & DevOps automation tools.
  • Delivery Tools: Skilled in Azure DevOps, Jira, or Monday.com for backlog and delivery management.
  • Soft Skills: Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder engagement skills.
