The Business Manager will play a key role, reporting to the Managing Director, overseeing team workflows, managing digital events, and ensuring smooth day-to-day production and commercial operations across the business. This role involves managing part-time and junior staff, coordinating virtual events, managing digital content, and maintaining internal commercial systems and processes. Ensuring the smooth running success of our operational and content processes and ensuring our website is always up to date, accurate and fit for purpose.
Areas of Responsibility
Website
- Manage and take ownership and executive responsibility for the company website with regular updates, development and amends, ensuring a user-friendly and professional area that will promote and disseminate content.
- Set up and run the Healthcare Word Series of virtual webinars using WordPress, Zoom, and YouTube, ensuring smooth delivery and high production standards.
Content
- Manage the editorial process by taking ownership of the editorial content library, including weekly updates, version control and leading the content meeting, ensuring a seamless relationship and good communication between design and editorial.
- Managing the diary and workload of the editor, ensuring full and transparent reporting on all content creation activities.
- Support with panel creation for both online and in-person events.
- Lead speaker onboarding for events, ensuring communication is clear, timelines are met, and participants are fully supported.
- Assist with creating and maintaining internal process documents and shared worksheets using Word and Excel, to improve production efficiency.
- Coordinate logistics for travel and accommodation for speakers by liaising with the event organisers.
- Ongoing development of our strategy around the creation and dissemination of high level strategic white papers and reports and the development of a monetisation strategy around them.
Event Organisation and Logistics
- Liaise with event organisers to coordinate contractual and logistical details, including stand requirements, delegate passes, and arrangements for any associated in-person or virtual activities.
- Contact hotels to negotiate group bookings and discounted rates, managing room allocations and updates as required.
- Coordinate with printers and production suppliers for printed materials, including magazines, brochures, and event collateral, ensuring timely delivery and quality control.
- Liaise with clients to share event updates as required, ensuring they are informed, supported, and fully prepared.
Team Members Onboarding
- Ensure all new team members have appropriate system access, login credentials, and computer equipment set up and ready prior to their start date.
- Distribute all onboarding materials to new starters, including welcome documents, access links, and relevant policies and procedures.
- Provide ongoing support to new team members as they settle into their role, acting as a point of contact for questions and ensuring a smooth and positive onboarding experience.
