Business Development Manager (Display)

We are seeking a Business Development Manager for our embedded & display business and require someone with significant experience in the embedded world, with technical understanding of all things display.

Avnet Displays designs and builds displays and touch screens for businesses, and we love doing it. Our in-house team works directly with businesses to solve all the challenges of integrating a display into a product design, from tiny wearables to massive outdoor screens. We design, build and deliver display solutions all over the world for established household brand names and industry disruptors alike.

The Display Innovation team works with the world’s leading display and touchscreen component manufacturers and innovators worldwide. In turn, Avnet Embedded handles display design and integration for some of the world’s biggest technology companies.

Our Display design experts work with customers to solve challenges specific to their industries, including environmental, safety and accuracy needs.

Job Summary-

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Display Business Development Manager to drive the growth of our display solutions portfolio. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and driving revenue growth through innovative display solutions.

What will you be doing?

  • Identification of net new, large projects for an assigned platform product range (Com modules, custom displays & full custom systems & HMI)
  • Technical advisory "Technology Influencer" function for customers and sales regarding the product lines and customer inquiries
  • Convincing presentation of new products/Roadmap to customers and sales
  • Leading contact in the first phase of a new project request
  • Coordinates projects with technical expertise (EOL, PCN, … troubleshooting)
  • Management of internal resources for a successful Design Win
  • Opportunity and project maintenance (Project tool: Salesforce)
  • Design-Win responsibility
  • Market and competition analysis
  • Support marcom activities (Coordination of training, roadshows, exhibitions, …)
  • Support the quote/price and value proposition discussions (share experience)
  • Help sales and customers understand Avnet Embedded engineering and manufacturing processes
  • Engage and build relationships with the strategic Partner Network
  • Build up or extend strong customer relationships at all levels in customer organizations.
  • Other duties as assigned

What about you?

  • Must have a solid understanding of business, financials, products/services, the market, and the needs of assigned accounts. Understands emerging market trends and interdependencies impacting customers; leverages understanding to expand relationships with customers. May be recognized as an expert in one area.
  • Requires developed sales expertise across a defined portfolio of products./services/accounts; applies expertise in a complex sales environment.
  • Capable of working independently and able to pursue or manage accounts/opportunities with large size/strategic importance/risk of loss.
  • Excellent collaborations skills as will be expected to collaborate with team and leadership. Has direct contact with clients and decision-makers; participates in team sales for major accounts.
  • Strong negotiation skills- Leads the negotiations on medium-sized, complex accounts; plans own territory or account approach. Works within broad guidelines and policies to develop business with new and existing customers
  • Display Solutions experience.
  • Strong commercial acumen and commercial awareness
  • Growth mindset
