Business Development Executive – Optima Technology
Optima Technology is seeking a Business Development Executive to join our UK‑based Optima Energy team. The role is fully remote within the UK and is ideal for a sales professional with experience in the energy sector who is ready to drive growth and build lasting client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, target, and engage prospective clients, including brokers and large end users.
- Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline through outreach, networking, referrals, and market research.
- Conduct discovery calls to understand customer requirements and challenges.
- Present Optima Energy’s suite of solutions, including product demos where needed.
- Prepare proposals, commercial models, and pricing submissions.
- Work with the Commercial Director to progress opportunities through to contract signature.
- Develop long‑term relationships with new customers and identify upsell or cross‑sell opportunities.
- Represent Optima Energy professionally at industry events, webinars, and meetings.
- Stay updated on energy market developments, billing, validation, metering, and sustainability trends.
- Provide feedback on market intelligence and client insights to help shape product development.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in B2B sales within the energy industry, ideally with a broker, TPI, supplier, software provider, or consultancy.
- Strong understanding of energy billing and tariffs, bill validation, and B2B billing accuracy.
- Experience building and managing a sales pipeline.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Self‑starter mindset with the ability to work autonomously.
- Experience selling SaaS or software‑driven energy solutions is preferred.
- Familiarity with CRM tools such as HubSpot or Salesforce is a plus.
- Understanding of sustainability reporting and carbon management trends is a plus.
