We are seeking a highly organised, initiative-taking Business Assistant to work closely with the Estate Director. Acting as their “right-hand person,” you will provide high-level administrative, project management, and strategic support across a diverse and fast-paced estate environment.
This is a varied and collaborative role that bridges day-to-day operations with long-term strategic priorities. You will play a role in ensuring projects progress smoothly, communications are effective, and priorities align with the wider Devonshire Group strategy.
The Bolton Abbey Estate is the Yorkshire home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire and forms part of the Devonshire Group. Spanning 26,500 acres within the Yorkshire Dales National Park, the estate includes farms, moorland, woodland, historic buildings, residential and commercial properties, as well as in-hand tourism, retail, and catering businesses.
The Devonshire Group brings together estates and enterprises across the UK and Ireland, including Chatsworth in Derbyshire, Lismore Estate in Ireland, and the Sussex Estate in Eastbourne, employing over 1,400 people across visitor attractions, retail, food and drink, property, and land-based businesses.
You will be highly organised, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities. You will bring strong people skills, discretion, and an initiative-taking approach to problem-solving.
This is a unique opportunity to work at the heart of one of the UK’s most significant historic estates, contributing to its long-term success while being part of a supportive and values-led organisation.
