Overview

Job Summary
The breast cancer clinical nurse specialist team are looking for an innovative and dynamic individual with an appropriate nursing skill set to join the established team of cancer specialist nurses, surgical consultants and support workers who provide specialist care and support across the health board. The successful applicant will receive mentorship from experienced specialist nurse teams.

Location and Working Pattern

This is a substantive Band 7 post at 37.5 hours per week (1 WTE). The base location is Bronglais General Hospital with an expectation to travel to other hospital sites within the health board.

Responsibilities

The post holder will organise and manage a caseload for a defined group of patients, providing specialist cancer nursing support, advice and education and care to that specific group. The post holder will act as a key worker for diagnosed cancer patients, providing expert holistic assessment and care to these complex client groups within Hywel Dda University Health Board. The role requires excellent communication skills and active participation in clinical practice, education, research/audit and implementation of national guidelines. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable.

Pay and Contract

Permanent, Full‑time, Band 7, Salary £48,527 to £55,532 per annum. Working pattern is 1 WTE, 37.5 hours per week.
