Job description

We are seeking proactive and compassionate Support Workers to join our dedicated team in Bradford on Avon, Wiltshire.

Our client is an active young woman in her early 40s with Cornelia de Lange Syndrome, who lives in her own home. We are looking for Support Workers who can assist with all aspects of personal care and daily living, and, importantly, encourage opportunities to try new things.

We are seeking Support Workers who are active, patient, and have a sense of fun, and who can support our client to access her local community, maintain good health, and make positive progress in engaging with activities.

Working Hours

You will be part of a team delivering 24/7 care. You will be responsible for working:

  • 1 x 12-hour day shift per week
  • 1 x 24-hour shift (waking day and sleeping night)
  • This is on a rolling rota basis, which will vary depending on the needs of the wider team
  • One of these shifts will fall on a weekend
Key Responsibilities as a Support Worker
  • Supporting the client to access the local community
  • Providing emotional support and companionship
  • Engaging with personalised routines
  • Assisting with the care programme
  • Helping with household cleaning
  • Maintaining accurate records of care provided and reporting any changes in the client’s condition
  • Promoting and supporting a healthy diet
  • Collaborating with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure holistic and comprehensive care
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • An enhanced DBS check and full training will be provided prior to starting work with our client. You will also be supported by our Clinical Lead Nurse for the area.
