With well‑maintained greens, a friendly membership base and a commitment to promoting bowls to all ages, the Club prides itself on combining tradition with accessibility. We support pennant bowls, social bowls, barefoot bowls, and community‑based events — with a history of fostering participation, club spirit and sporting values.

Role Overview

We are seeking a motivated and organised Bowls Coordinator to oversee all bowls‑related activities at Northmead Bowling Club. This role is central to promoting the sport, growing membership, delivering events, and managing club bowling operations.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver the club’s annual bowls program (pennant, social, mixed, barefoot and junior bowls)
  • Coordinate training and coaching sessions, working with coaches, umpires and volunteers
  • Manage event scheduling, draws, entries and results for tournaments, club championships and external carnivals
  • Promote bowls activities — including barefoot bowls, corporate and social bowls nights — to attract new players and community groups
  • Work with the club committee to support member recruitment and retention, including junior and social bowls programs
  • Maintain records (e.g. membership, registrations, "BowlsLink", attendance) and handle administrative tasks
  • Liaise with green‑keeping staff to schedule green usage and ensure facilities are well kept
  • Communicate with members, handle enquiries, and provide high‑quality customer service
  • Assist with club marketing — social media, website updates, newsletters, event promotion
What We’re Looking For

  • Candidates must demonstrate knowledge of lawn bowls through any combination of playing, coaching, or administration experience
  • Experience coordinating bowls or similar club sporting activities (coaching, events, memberships)
  • Minimum 3‑5 years of experience coordinating bowls
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
  • Ability to engage with a variety of people — members, new bowlers, volunteers, community groups
  • Proficiency with basic computer tools (e.g. Word, Excel, email) and ideally familiarity with bowls administration systems (e.g. BowlsLink)
  • A current Working With Children Check (for junior bowls), and First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain
  • Permanent residency status required for this position; applicants must hold either Australian citizenship or permanent residency status
What We Offer

Opportunity to shape the bowls program and grow our membership base; a friendly club culture with supportive members and committee; variety in duties — from competitive pennant bowls to social and community engagement; flexible working hours aligned to bowls schedules (evenings, weekends); opportunity to contribute to the long‑term development of the Club.
