Based in Cambridge with ties to university research, this start-up has secured funding to enable its technology development. As they are in stealth mode, specific details would be shared under NDA with the company.

The are currently looking for a Biophysicist to join them, and seek an ambitious, hands‑on technologist who would enjoy working in the lab on highly applied science. This would include proof‑of‑concept experiments for cutting‑edge research, prototyping, biophysical assays and documentation.

Requirements
  • PhD, MPhil or MRes graduate in biophysics or similar. Must have demonstrable project experience in biophysics research within an applied field.
  • Strong technical lab skills and excellent scientific problem solver.
  • Project experience should include work with proteins or nucleic acids (ideally within the same project).
  • Experience with electrophysiology, single molecule measurements, microfluidics or electrochemical measurements.
  • Any experience around Python scripting for automation or use or Arduinos would be desirable.
  • Good organisational skills including documentation.
  • Excellent communication skills. The role would be working in a small, dedicated team of multidisciplinary scientists.

This is an ideal role for someone looking to work at the interface of science disciplines and take steps in forging new technologies.

Only applicants with full, unrestricted rights to work in the UK will be considered.
