Job description

Here within the @one Alliance, we are a collaborative organization comprising eight partner companies (Anglian Water, Balfour Beatty, Barhale, Binnies, MMB, MWH Treatment, Skanska, and SWECO) and our extended supply chain, delivering over half of Anglian Water’s capital investment programme.

We are preparing for our most exciting Asset Management Period yet, known as AMP8, which will involve delivering a larger programme of work than ever before. This includes a focus on nature-based solutions such as wetlands and urban drainage schemes.

With a diverse portfolio of projects planned for AMP8 to ensure water supply across the region, our ability to manage work and exceed customer expectations will be critical. As we move towards a more customer-centric and financially demanding water industry, leveraging technology for project delivery will become increasingly important.

To collaborate with our Water team, we are seeking BIM Technicians to join our Nitrates team!

What will you be doing as our new BIM Technician?

You will produce advanced 3D designs and models related to Civil, Structural, and Mechanical water assets, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Producing 3D models and drawings in compliance with relevant standards using BIM applications like Plant3D, Civil3D, Revit, Navisworks, and Recap.
  2. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
  3. Contributing to the pre-construction Health and Safety Plan, including risk assessments.
  4. Ensuring work is completed within agreed timescales and budgets.
  5. Working cross-functionally across the Alliance to meet project requirements and ensure efficient delivery.
  6. Participating in project reviews to address questions and challenges constructively.
  7. Researching, presenting, and implementing innovative processes to optimize output.

About your skills, experience, and behaviors…

Ideally, you will have an engineering diploma, degree, or equivalent in Civil/Structural Engineering. Proficiency in Plant3D, Civil3D, Revit, Navisworks, or Recap is essential. You should be able to generate and interpret detailed engineering drawings and be aware of relevant standards such as ISO 9001 and PAS 1192. Excellent communication skills and a passion for solving design issues through technology are required.

You should demonstrate enthusiasm and creativity in working with teams to produce clear and relevant engineering solutions.
