Role overview:
We are looking for a full‑time, office‑based Bid Writer in London, joining the Proposal and Feasibility team. You will work closely with operations and business development to prepare proposals for new pharmaceutical business. The role offers the opportunity to develop strategic content at the intersection of science, operations, and finance, and to grow your career.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead or facilitate proposal planning meetings, identifying client requirements, stakeholders, and strategic direction.
- Analyse tender documents (RFPs, RFIs, ITTs) to interpret requirements, identify risks or gaps, and prepare clarification questions.
- Coordinate input from internal experts – commercial, technical, operational, and legal – to produce cohesive and accurate bid responses.
- Draft and refine proposal content, ensuring clarity, compliance, and a consistent voice across technical, commercial, and executive summary sections.
- Develop pricing narratives and understand costing and gross‑margin implications, ensuring internal transparency and external accuracy.
- Manage timelines and deliverables, holding stakeholders accountable and ensuring on‑time submission to high quality standards.
- Liaise with partners and third parties, consolidating content and ensuring alignment on scope, pricing, and commitments.
- Validate proposal data and content to ensure internal consistency and compliance with client specifications.
- Perform peer reviews and quality checks before submission to ensure clarity, structure, and strategic alignment.
- Support continuous improvement of bid templates, processes, and knowledge repositories to enhance quality and efficiency.
The right candidate:
- 3+ years’ experience in proposal writing, bid coordination, or tender management within public sector, MSP, IT, telecoms, or property environment.
- Strong understanding of public‑sector procurement frameworks (e.g. G‑Cloud, DPS, or equivalent).
- Excellent written communication and copy‑editing skills; ability to translate technical information into persuasive content.
- Commercial acumen – confident working with costing models and understanding gross‑margin principles.
- Analytical mindset, able to identify inconsistencies, risks, and data gaps in bid documentation.
- Excellent verbal communication and stakeholder engagement skills; comfortable collaborating with senior leaders and SMEs.
- Highly organised, with a proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with an eye for detail in formatting and presentation.
- Desirable but not a must‑have: knowledge of ISO Standards such as ISO 27001, ISO 9001.
