Who We Are

Located close to London, Beckenham Cricket Club (BCC) is one of the most prestigious clubs in Kent, boasting a beautiful ground and a proud history. We welcome players from elite standard to those looking for a friendly Sunday game. The junior section is actually one of the largest in the country, comprising over 350 boys and girls aged between 5-17, all of whom play in leagues and cups across Kent, Surrey and nationwide. Our ambition is to provide the best junior section possible at both producing and nurturing elite talent, whilst giving the opportunities and experience that team sport provides. Our total membership including male, female players & parents is close to 1000 members. The First XI have been promoted back to the Kent Championship, and were previously Kent Premier League champions in 2017 and 2019.

The Role

As Director of Coaching at BCC, you will:

  • Lead and oversee the club’s coaching strategy across junior and senior sections, with the majority of focus on the clubs junior section and senior pathway
  • Manage and support coaches, ensuring high-quality, consistent coaching throughout the club
  • Develop structured player development pathways from juniors to elite-level cricket
  • Design and deliver training programmes tailored to the needs of players at all levels
  • Run and support specialist coaching sessions, including 1-to-1s and holiday camps
  • Work closely with captains, coaches, and the committee to align coaching with club goals
  • Foster an inclusive, safe, and enjoyable environment for all members
  • While playing for the club would be welcome, it is not essential to the role

Coaching Calendar Overview

Summer:

  • Lead U11 and U13 coaching on Monday & Friday evenings between 17.30 – 19.45pm for 12 Weeks during the season
  • Lead Senior Adult Training on Tuesday Nights between 18.00 – 20.30
  • Lead Sunday morning coach for 2 sessions – Softball 9 – 10.30 – Hardball 10.45 – 12.15

Winter:

  • Pre Christmas junior indoor nets (hard ball and softball)
  • Post Christmas junior indoor nets (hard ball and softball)
  • Adult Winter Training after Christmas between 19.30 – 21.00

Year Round:

  • Community engagement, player recruitment & promotion of BCC

About You

  • We are looking for a dedicated, organised and passionate leader.
  • ECB Core Coach/Level 3 qualification (or higher) or equivalent.
  • Experience playing or coaching at county or premier-league club level.
  • Proven ability to lead, manage, and inspire coaches and players.
  • Current DBS clearance & Right to work in the UK.
  • Ability to identify talent and build pathways to senior cricket, whilst driven to build your own successful coaching business within a club
