Job summary

A regional healthcare provider in Tees Valley is looking for a compassionate Bank Receptionist to join the team. The role requires strong customer service skills and the ability to work efficiently in a multi-disciplinary environment. The ideal candidate will have NVQ Level 2 in Customer Service and demonstrate a commitment to quality patient care. Working hours include shifts between 07:00 am and 06:15 pm, including weekends, with opportunities for extra hours. Experience in a mental health setting is desirable.

Bank Receptionist

The role will require you to interact compassionately with patients and carers at all times.

The role also requires you to show commitment to and participate in quality improvement activities.

You will need to promote at all times a positive image of people with mental health conditions.

The post holder is part of a team providing a comprehensive and efficient reception service for all patients, visitors and staff to the services.

You will need to be passionate and enthusiastic about patient care putting patients at the heart of everything you do.

You will be working in a multi‑professional team and will need to be able to think independently and be empathetic. You will be passionate about our business, creating a culture of continuous improvement.

You must have the Right to Work in the UK in order to be successfully appointed to this role. Please note, this role does not meet the required eligibility criteria for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker visa and therefore the Trust is unable to offer sponsorship for this particular role.

Main duties of the job

We require a friendly, positive thinking, organised and motivated individual to work as a Bank Receptionist - within the Trust's Hotel Services Team.

Candidates must be able to follow and work within defined procedures and have the ability to communicate face to face and by telephone in a helpful manner. You will be required to demonstrate a high level of customer service skills when dealing with potentially distressing situations. Good organisational and time‑management skills including ability to prioritise effectively are a must.

The post holder will be based at West Park Hospital and will be required to work shifts between the hours of 07:00 am and 06:15 pm including weekends.

You should be highly motivated, reliable, and flexible also willing to work at short notice as there may be opportunities for extra hours.

Experience of working or volunteering in a mental health and learning disabilities environment is desirable.
