Bank Floating Support Assistant - Salford, £12.70 per hour

Hours as and when required. Sanctuary Supported Living is recruiting for a Bank Floating Support Assistant to join our Salford Community Outreach Services in Salford and Eccles.

Sanctuary Supported Living specialises in delivering a wide range of personalised housing, care, and support services to help people across England to live as independently as possible. We are a not-for-profit, national organisation that puts customers at the heart of what we do and supports them on their pathways to independence.

The role of Bank Floating Support Assistant will include:

  • Providing support to encourage customers with mental health needs to maximise their own potential
  • Providing a high quality, hands-on support service
  • Encouraging customers to develop daily living skills such as cooking, cleaning, shopping and being part of their community
  • Encouraging social inclusion and helping customers build confidence, resilience, and self-esteem
  • Working with statutory and non-statutory agencies on behalf of the customers and actively encouraging choice and involvement, or acting as an advocate when required
  • Maintaining a safe environment for customers, providing support in accordance with relevant regulations, procedures, and practices
  • Occasional travel may be a requirement of the role; therefore, a full valid driving licence is essential
Skills and experience
  • A caring, approachable nature and a confident ‘can-do’ attitude
  • Ability to keep accurate records and clearly communicate relevant information to team members
  • Excellent communication skills to build positive relationships with customers, families, and internal and external agencies
  • Experience of working as a member of a team
  • A positive and accepting approach to customers whatever their needs
  • Level 2 NVQ Health and Social Care, or willing to work towards
