Band 8a Pharmacist – Acute Trust (Ward-Based)
  • Start Date: Asap
  • Contract Duration: 31st December 2025
  • Hours: Monday To Friday, 08:45am – 17:00pm
  • Pay: £26.42/ hour – Standard £42.27/ hour – Bank Holiday
About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Band8a Pharmacist to join a busty acute trust on a ward-based assignment. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident clinician to provide high-quality pharmaceutical care across a range of specialities including:

  • General Medicine
  • Surgery
  • Orthopaedics
Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver comprehensive clinical pharmacy services to assigned wards
  • Provide expert medicines optimisation support to multidisciplinary teams
  • Conduct medicines reconciliation and clinical reviews
  • Ensure safe and effective prescribing, dispensing and administration
  • Offer specialist advice to clinicians, nursing staff and patients
  • Contribute to discharge planning and patient counselling
Requirements
  • GPhC Registered Pharmacist
  • Previous ward-based hospital experience (Band 7/8a level)
  • Strong clinical knowledge in acute care
  • Ability to work independently within a multidisciplinary environment
  • Excellent communication and decision-making skills
