This opportunity sits within the Asset Management Transformation team, part of our UK Business Advisory (Management Consulting) practice. The team enhances organisational maturity to maximise value from built or natural assets over their whole lifecycle, using best practices, innovation, strategy, planning, upskilling, and data-led decision-making to optimise outcomes for customers, stakeholders, and society in a sustainable way. Our experts collaborate with technical, digital, and commercial specialists to deliver practical implementation and market insights.

  • Strategic asset management planning and decision support through the whole lifecycle

Role accountabilities

The Asset Management Transformation team is growing and diverse. We seek an Associate Director to join the leadership, driving success and outstanding client experience within an inclusive environment.

Requirements include experience in asset management transformation and market intelligence in relevant industries (Infrastructure, Transportation, Water, Energy, Utilities, Defence, etc.), plus strong business development, sales generation, team leadership, stakeholder engagement, and adaptability in a flexible environment. The role offers a key opportunity in growth and senior leadership in our business.

Specifically, the role involves:

  • Leading significant client projects and accounts from sales/bidding to solution design and activity planning, with multi-disciplinary team management and commercial outcomes for Arcadis
  • Diagnosing and tackling complex asset-centric issues across large-scale engagements, designing and implementing value-delivering solutions
  • Leading teams to use insights on markets, trends, risks and opportunities to inform client recommendations
  • Leading business development and sales for value propositions, including relevant bids, to grow Asset Management Transformation capability
  • Managing delivery of exceptional client experience from mobilisation to handover, understanding client needs and delivering on promises
  • Being a subject matter expert and owning continuous development of offerings
  • Active member of the UK&I and Global asset management community of practice
  • Providing line management, coaching and mentoring to future talent
  • Supporting and owning aspects of team strategy and capability building
  • Supporting the on-project development of team members’ skills
Qualifications & Experience

We are seeking a professional with experience in asset management transformation and the ability to grow a business and build client relationships. Ideally you have a background in built assets or consulting and can understand client needs to deliver impactful solutions.

  • Demonstrable track record leading asset management or management consulting projects in relevant sectors
  • Thought leadership in asset lifecycle phases and related services (e.g., asset management operating model design, ISO 55001 systems, regulatory planning, investment prioritisation, operational efficiency, data maturity)
  • Strong business development, bidding and sales experience in a consulting environment
  • Exceptional communication with senior client/stakeholder relationship skills
  • Excellent team leadership, collaboration and commercial management
  • Ability to assess business problems and deliver practical improvement recommendations
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline
  • Relevant industry qualifications or membership (e.g., MCA, IAM) or working towards one
