Key Responsibilities
  • Independently manage all aspects related to customer transactions for assigned clients (less complex), and support senior Relationship Manager for large clients with complex transactions.
  • Planning and Strategy Development: manage a client portfolio to meet commercial and risk goals; collaborate with Product Partners to identify solutions; partner with Credit and Compliance stakeholders; assist senior Relationship Manager with origination and strategic business development; share information with MUFG international branches; develop understanding of MUFG’s credit policy and procedures; undertake ongoing training and development.
  • Risk Management: monitor and act within delegated authority across the Corporate Banking Department (London); manage risks within the firm’s risk appetite using risk management tools; ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements; support governance and reporting; manage credit assessment flows and monitoring for assigned customers.
  • Regulatory Compliance, Affairs and Change: evaluate and establish operational and IT controls to enable department functions in line with business plans.
  • Controls and Compliance: ensure adherence to internal risk and compliance requirements; maintain systems and controls appropriate to the business and ensure policy compliance.
  • Relationship With Other Functions And Stakeholders: maintain and enhance relationships with stakeholders across the region and globally to share best practices and support MUFG strategy.
  • Work Experience: essential front-office Corporate Banking experience; experience in credit assessment for large/medium corporates; ability to work in a multicultural environment.
Qualifications
  • Education: Degree level education or equivalent qualifications.
  • Languages: Business level fluency in Japanese and English (written and verbal).
  • Skills: advanced knowledge of corporate banking, corporate finance, accounting and strategic thinking; broad knowledge of financial products/services; advanced MS Office skills; strong numerical, written and verbal communication; high accuracy and attention to detail; strong analytical and reporting skills; effective team player; excellent time management.
