Job summary

A leading luxury pool company in the UK seeks an Assistant Project Manager or an experienced Project Manager. You will oversee various projects, ensuring timely completion and managing multiple teams. The ideal candidate possesses strong organizational and communication skills, previous experience in construction is preferable but not essential. The role requires both office and site management, including responsibilities for negotiating project materials and managing suppliers. A full driving license is essential.

MAIN PURPOSE:

UK-based Guncast Group specialises in the design, construction, installation and maintenance of luxury swimming pools and wellness facilities.
With offices in West Sussex, Oxfordshire and West Byfleet we operate nationally on a range of diverse projects, at the very highest end of the market.
We are looking to appoint an Assistant Project Manager or an experienced Project Manager, to strengthen and complement the existing team. The role will be working within the Contracts team to assist a Senior Project Manager throughout the full luxury swimming pool and wellness installation process – From initial design handover to installation, commissioning and client handover.
Some UK and overseas travel will be required.

KEY DUTIES:

  • Being responsible for a portfolio of projects from site start, through installation and commissioning.
  • Day to day running of all aspects of the swimming pool installation, including management of engineers, subcontractors and site programme.
  • Attend meetings on site (throughout the UK) and liaise with clients, main contractors, site managers and other subcontractors in a confident and proactive manner, building effective working relationships.
  • Evaluate client needs and company requirements, to provide solutions and deliver the product.
  • Office based operations and site management supervision on multiple sites.
  • Responsible for project completion, bringing each project in on time and on budget.
  • Ordering materials for all aspects of the project and responsible for negotiating with suppliers to secure the best prices.
  • Working within an existing team to programme engineering staff on a day to day / week to week basis.
  • Working hours typically 8am – 5pm, but travelling may require early start / late finish.

KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

  • Dynamic, quick to learn, good business sense.
  • Previous experience in construction industry / project management preferable – but not essential
  • Knowledge and experience of general building practices preferable but not essential
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics preferable but not essential
  • Good organisational and communication skills
  • Self-motivated and able to self-manage when required.
  • Excellent computer literacy. Email and cloud based server. CAD / Revit skills desirable but training offered.
  • Build good working relationships with other parties both internal and external
  • CSCS / SSSTS – Preferred but not essential – can be obtained once here
  • Full clean driving license essential
