Join Our Team as an Assistant Nursery Manager at Apricot Preschool

At Apricot Preschool, we’re seeking a passionate Assistant Nursery Manager (Preschool) to support our team in delivering exceptional care and education. To be considered for this role, you must hold a Level 3 Early Years qualification or above, and have prior leadership experience in an early years setting. Ideally, this experience will include a leadership or supervisory position, such as Assistant Nursery Manager or Deputy Nursery Manager.

Pay

£31,200 per annum (40 hours per week).

Working Hours

Monday to Friday – 40 hours per week between 8 am and 6 pm.

Apricot Preschool, Priory Park Infant School, Almond Road, St Neots, PE19 1DZ.

What Being an Assistant Nursery Manager Involves

As an Assistant Nursery Manager, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting the Nursery Manager to lead and inspire your team while maintaining excellence in your base‑room responsibilities. You will:

  • Lead and mentor the nursery team to deliver high‑quality early years education with pride and energy.
  • Support the Nursery Manager in overseeing all aspects of nursery operations, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Act as a role model, fostering an environment of initiative, creativity, and high standards of care.
  • Build strong partnerships with families, colleagues, and external agencies to promote collaboration and excellent outcomes for children.
  • Monitor and guide the team’s implementation of the EYFS framework, ensuring engaging and nurturing learning opportunities.
  • Take responsibility for the nursery in the Nursery Manager’s absence, ensuring smooth operations.
About Our Nursery

At our St Neots childcare day nursery and preschool, we follow the Montessori approach in a home‑from‑home environment. The children in our care learn through play, and the passionate team at our Ofsted‑rated Good nursery offers children a variety of activities and learning opportunities every day related to their individual interests, ensuring no two days are ever the same. We are situated on the site of Longsands College, around the back of the school, and are best accessed via Kings Road. We are just a few minutes walk from the train station, where trains run every 30 minutes to Kings Cross, London. The A1 and the A428 are nearby, with bus routes into Cambridge, making us easily accessible for commuters. Our preschool is only a short walk away and parking is available on both sites.
