A leading education provider in Wythenshawe seeks an Assistant Head Teacher to work with children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder and other needs. This role involves setting the school's vision, supporting staff, and ensuring students feel proud of their achievements. Those Huge Small Victories — Our Assistant Head Teachers are fulfilled by making the smallest positive changes in our young people, celebrating the little wins. Although a lesson can be a big win for some of our pupils, those huge small victories add up to make a big difference.
You’ll be working with children and young people with Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs. Alongside the Head Teacher, you’ll set the vision for the future of the school, ensuring we have the right people and plans in place to see that our young people leave feeling proud of what they’ve achieved. You will need to be resilient and dedicated, but the huge small victories you achieve will be something you’re really proud of.
As an Assistant Head Teacher at Witherslack Group, you’ll get support from the broader management team and a range of supporting specialists. Opening in September 2026, Bowersgate School is a purpose-built, state-of-the-art school. It will cater for up to 72 pupils aged 6–16 with needs including autism and SEMH. This opportunity serves Wythenshawe and the wider communities, placing pupil progress and care at the heart of what we offer.
