Overview

Are you a design professional with a contractor background looking to take the next step in your career? We’re seeking an Assistant Design Manager to join our growing team and support the delivery of high-profile infrastructure projects across the Midlands and North. As Assistant Design Manager, you’ll play a key role in managing the design aspects of highways, public realm, and structures schemes. You’ll work closely with consultants, interpret technical drawings, identify challenges, and help drive solutions that align with construction methods and project timelines.

Duties
  • Manage design coordination across multiple infrastructure projects
  • Interpret and review drawings, identifying risks and proposing solutions
  • Liaise with consultants to ensure timely delivery of design packages
  • Support the Design Manager and collaborate with the Assistant Information Manager
  • Contribute to the development of design management processes and team growth
Person Specification
  • Strong design background, ideally with contractor-side experience
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and manage design consultants

  • Degree qualified (preferred) or significant demonstrable experience
  • Full UK driving licence
