Job summary

A sports development company is looking for an Assistant Cricket Coach to help deliver exciting cricket training sessions for children aged 2.5 to 11 years. You will support the Lead Coach by engaging with young participants, ensuring safety, and managing the administrative tasks related to the sessions.   • Willingness to take on additional administrative duties.

Organisation: Cruz Sports Coaching — Location: East/North London areas — Reporting To: Lead Cricket Coach — Hourly Rate: £10‑£15 per hour (Based on experience)

Role Purpose

The Assistant Cricket Coach supports the Lead Coach in delivering fun‑based, developmental cricket sessions. The primary focus is to assist with session delivery, ensuring safety, managing participants, and handling essential administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities
Session Support & Delivery
  • Assist Lead Coach: Actively support the Lead Coach in delivering all sessions for ages 2.5–11, ensuring alignment with the club’s fun‑based and holistic development philosophy.
  • Direct Delivery: Be prepared to step up and lead a session or a smaller group activity in the absence of the Lead Coach.
  • Participant Engagement: Actively engage with participants, encourage involvement, and assist with behaviour management under the direction of the Lead Coach.
  • Safety: Ensure all equipment is correctly set up, safe, and ready for use. Monitor participants to maintain a safe environment.
Administrative & Logistics Support
  • Registration: Assist with participant registration and attendance tracking at the start of each session.
  • Parental Communication: Support the Lead Coach in building positive relationships with parents and answering general club questions.
  • Equipment: Assist with the setup, breakdown, and storage of all cricket and training equipment.
  • Volunteer Support: Assist in overseeing any parent volunteers or junior staff.
Essential Requirements
  • Experience working with young children (ages 2-11) in a sports or educational setting.
  • Reliable, energetic, and a genuine passion for youth development through sport.
  • Valid Enhanced DBS Check (Disclosure and Barring Service).
  • Willingness to take on additional administrative duties as required by the Lead Coach.
