A local council in England is seeking an Assistant Contract Monitoring Officer responsible for managing and procuring contracts, particularly for school meals and other services. Delivery contract management is looking for a monitoring officer to join our small team of five, responsible for procuring and managing several contracts for our corporate estate and schools. You will take on the monitoring of these contracts, assist our contract lead officers and manage the school meals service, cleaning standards and grounds maintenance. A personal car is required for daily travel.
You will need excellent attention to detail, be well‑organised, self‑motivated and able to work independently. Strong communication skills are essential for achieving the best outcomes when visiting sites. Competence with Microsoft 365 and our dedicated monitoring database is required. Prior experience in grounds, cleaning, catering or contract monitoring is preferred, but specific training will be provided.
You will be based from home but must attend sites daily and meetings as necessary. Working hours are 9:30 am – 3:30 pm with some flexibility. You will monitor a kitchen each day during the lunchtime period.
