A leading assessment and qualifications provider is seeking an experienced Assessment Writer for its Media Studies programs. This remote role involves developing assessment materials that are aligned with UK academic standards and writing examinations and coursework briefs. We are looking for experienced Assessment Writers to support the development of assessments for INTO Qualifications' regulated Level 3 programmes. This role offers the opportunity to contribute directly to qualifications that prepare international students for progression to undergraduate study. Working closely with the INTO Qualifications academic and quality team, you will help ensure that assessments are fair, rigorous, and aligned with UK academic standards.
You will be responsible for developing assessment materials in line with approved module specifications and learning outcomes. This includes writing examination papers and coursework briefs, ensuring clarity of language, appropriate level of demand, and effective differentiation across grade boundaries. You will work within established assessment frameworks and quality assurance processes, responding to feedback and revisions where required.
The role requires a strong understanding of assessment design and academic integrity, as well as the ability to produce high quality work to agreed deadlines using structured templates and version controlled documentation. Work is commissioned on a freelance basis and scheduled around the annual assessment development cycle.
Applicants should be confident with contemporary media theory and practice, including media language and semiotics, representation and identity, audiences and fandom, media industries and regulation, and the role of media in politics,businessand everyday life. Familiarity with key theorists in media studies and with practical media production processes for print, online or audiovisual formats is important.
