Job summary

A leading gas turbine solutions provider in the UK is looking for a full time assembly cell technician to join their team. The role involves working with high-performance materials and operating various machines to produce aerospace-level components to tight tolerances. Candidates should have a relevant qualification or demonstrable experience in precision machining. Strong communication skills and the ability to read technical drawings are essential. This permanent position includes training opportunities and operates on a nightshift rota.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrable experience in precision machining or mechanical discipline required.
  • Time served in a previous manufacturing or metalworking role is valuable.
  • Training will be provided as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all work adheres to company policies and standards.
  • Clean components prior to assembly.
  • Perform pressure testing of assemblies.
  • Operate CNC bending and tube forming machinery.
  • Inspect using manual measuring equipment.

Job description

Due to company growth, the Sub-assembly cell (part of Score Gas Turbines) are looking to recruit a full time assembly cell technician into our existing team of technicians.

The right person will form a critical part of the team and will be responsible carrying out various tasks, working with high-performance materials and tight tolerances, driving high quality & a focus on deliverables.

The right person will form a critical part of the team and will be responsible for producing high-spec aerospace level components & assemblies to tight tolerances using various manual and CNC machines, fixtures, jigs, and measuring equipment.

This role is within a department that runs a nightshift rota & will form part of any offer.

This is a full time, permanent role.

Primary responsibilities
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with company policies, procedures, standards and work instructions.
  • Cleaning of components prior to assembly and vacuum brazing
  • Cutting & preparing tube-stock
  • Pressure testing of various assemblies
  • Laser etching of components / assemblies
  • Assembly of sub-components – tubes, heatshields, injectors, fuel fittings, shrouds using required process / machinery
  • Operating the tube forming machine
  • Operating the CNC bending machine
  • Inspection using manual measuring equipment
  • Use of tack welder
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and measurements
  • Gain understanding & appreciation of all other workshop processes
  • Any other reasonable duties as required to meet the needs of the business
Qualifications and Experience
  • MA / HNC or demonstratable experience through previous roles.
  • Time served in a precision machining or mechanical discipline or relevant demonstratable work experience in previous manufacturing or metalworking role.
  • Training will be provided as needed to support your development
