Job summary

A local primary school in the United Kingdom is seeking a proactive Teaching Assistant to support a Year 3 pupil with Autism, along with delivering small group interventions for the wider class. The role is focused on helping the pupil access the curriculum and managing their daily routine while also boosting attainment for other children. The ideal candidate will have experience with Autism, strong literacy and numeracy skills, and a passion for inclusive education. This is a fixed-term role with 25 hours per week during term time.

Qualifications

  • Patient, resilient, and passionate about inclusive education.
  • Understanding of sensory needs and potential triggers.
  • Knowledge of Little Wandle Phonics is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Support a Year 3 pupil with ASD in accessing learning.
  • Deliver daily 1:1 and small group sessions in Phonics, Literacy, and Numeracy.
  • Support the pupil’s social interaction with peers during break times.
  • Lead small intervention groups for other Year 3 pupils.
  • Work closely with the Class Teacher and SENCO to review IEPs.
