Job description
A local charity supporting children, young people and adults with all disabilities need helpers for its art and craft sessions. You don't need to have any art skills, just be patient, caring and fun
About this opportunity from The Art Ministry

The Art Ministry needs helpers for its weekly 2 hour art and craft sessions for children, young people and adults with learning difficulties or with visual impairments, adults with physical disabilities and adults with mental health problems.

The majority of these sessions take place weekdays in Hadleigh, Essex plus two weekly sessions in Southend and blocks of sessions at sheltered housing schemes in Essex.

We also need helpers at community events where we provide free art and craft activities such as at Leigh Regatta, Hadleigh Community Fayre and Leigh Community Centre kids’ holiday sessions.

You will have the opportunity to help people socially interact in a creative environment while raising their self confidence and boosting their self esteem.

You will learn how to help people get the best out of themselves, and this will help you likewise. We can give you an insight into working in creative and caring environments, and we can give you references if required.

The weekly sessions have up to 10 students with a variety of needs. Guidance is provided by our Session Leader but help and support is essential because of the needs of the participants.

Up to 200 people can take part in our community event activities during the course of a day.

No art or craft experience needed – just a patient and caring attitude and the ability to have fun. If you are a creative person you will have a chance to share your skills.
