Job description

Seashell Trust has a really exciting opportunity for an experienced and passionate individual to join their well-established Seashell Active team as a Aquatics Delivery Officer. This role sits within their dynamic and inclusive health and wellbeing provision, which includes sport, recreation, and physical activity services designed to support children and young people with complex needs.

As part of our strategic growth, Seashell is investing in innovative early assessment and intervention services, and inclusive physical activity is central to this vision. The Aquatics Delivery Officer will play a key role in launching and managing our inclusive aquatics facilitates, helping to embed swimming into the lives of our students, residents, and wider community.

Role Highlights
  • Lead the delivery and development of inclusive swimming programmes for children and young people with complex needs, as well as the wider community.
  • Drive continuous improvement of pool-based activities and champion best practice in aquatics.
    Mentor and support swim teachers and apprentices, ensuring high standards of teaching and safety.
    Play a key role in shaping Seashell’s swim strategy and building partnerships with schools, clubs, and governing bodies.
  • Make a real difference by enabling individuals with complex needs to access and enjoy swimming in a safe, supportive environment.
Qualifications & Required Skills
  • Swim England or STA Level 2 Certificate for Teaching Aquatics.
  • RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Qualification.
  • Experience delivering swimming programmes and water-based activities, ideally including work with children and young people with complex needs.
  • Strong leadership and organisational skills, with the ability to manage a team and a busy timetable.
  • Excellent communication and customer care skills, with a flexible approach to working evenings and weekends.
