Job Title: Apprentice Recruitment Coordinator

Location: Middlesbrough College Main Campus, TS2 1AD

Department: Business Engagement & Partnerships

Reporting to: Learner Recruitment Manager

Salary: £14,565 per annum, first 12 months rising to National Minimum Wage for Age

Annual Leave: 30 days per annum plus bank holidays

Contractual hours: 37 hours per week

Basis: Full time, Fixed Term, Apprenticeship – duration 21 months

Overview

Join Middlesbrough College as an Apprenticeship Recruitment Coordinator and play a vital role delivering a smooth recruitment process for apprenticeships. You’ll support candidates through pre‑employment checks, telephone screenings, and initial assessments, while maintaining accurate records and providing advice and guidance to applicants and students. This dynamic role also involves promoting apprenticeship opportunities through social media, events, and stakeholder engagement, ensuring timely communication and collaboration with recruitment consultants to deliver an exceptional service. From day one, you’ll be hands‑on, learning from experienced professionals while gaining a nationally recognised Level 3 Business Admin qualification.

Responsibilities
  • Support applicant pre‑employment checks for apprentices delivered by Middlesbrough College.
  • Support telephone screenings for new applicants and arrange first stage interviews.
  • Support setup of initial assessments at first stage interviews, including invigilating these assessments.
  • Support end process documentation creation and chasing.
  • Provide support to college students enabling them to move into potential apprenticeships.
  • Keep the Apprenticeship Records system up to date.
  • Provide apprenticeship information, advice and guidance to applicants including CV writing support.
Qualifications
  • At least 3 GCSEs, including Grade 4 or above in Maths and English (or equivalent).
  • A commitment to undertake any mandatory training relevant to the role.
  • Good personal presentation skills.
  • Evidence of a desire to work in a busy office environment.
