This particular Application Support role sits at the heart of the Global Markets e‑trading infrastructure structure. The candidate will provide RTB (Run The Bank) Production Support for Client Connectivity and Futures Trading Execution Support, offering the ability to learn about global markets and e‑trading. The successful candidate will liaise with trading floor users and possess the following technical skillset:

Responsibilities
  • Provide technical and business support for users of Citi applications, quick resolutions to app issues, and drive stability, efficiency and effectiveness improvements.
  • Maintain application systems that have completed the development stage and are running in daily operations.
  • Manage, maintain and support applications and their operating environments, focusing on stability, quality and functionality against service level expectations.
  • Perform start‑of‑day checks, continuous monitoring and regional handover.
  • Perform same‑day risk reconciliations.
  • Develop and maintain technical support documentation.
  • Identify ways to maximize the potential of the applications used.
  • Assess risk and impact of production issues and elevate to business and technology management in a timely manner.
  • Ensure storage and archiving procedures are in place and functioning correctly.
  • Formulate and define scope and objectives for complex application enhancements and problem resolution.
  • Review and develop application contingency planning to ensure availability to users.
  • Partner with appropriate development and production support areas to prioritize bug fixes and support tooling requirements.
  • Participate in application releases, from development, testing and deployment into production.
  • Engage in post‑implementation analysis to ensure successful system design and functionality.
  • Consider implications of technology application to the current environment, identify risks, vulnerabilities and security issues, and communicate impact.
  • Ensure essential procedures are followed and help define operating standards and processes.
  • Act as a liaison between users/traders, interfacing internal technology groups and vendors.
  • Raise problems to appropriate technology and business teams while adhering to Service Level Agreements.
  • Act as advisor or coach to new or lower level analysts.
  • Provide evaluative judgment based on analysis of factual information in complicated and unique situations.
  • Directly impact the business by ensuring the quality of work provided by self and others; impacts own team and closely related work teams.
  • Exhibit sound and comprehensive communication and diplomacy skills to exchange complex information.
  • Actively involve in and own Support Project items, covering Stability, Efficiency, and Effectiveness initiatives.
  • Perform other duties and functions as assigned.
  • Operate with a limited level of direct supervision and exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.
  • Act as SME to senior stakeholders and/or other team members.
Qualifications
  • Relevant experience in an Application Support role.
  • Experience installing, configuring or supporting business applications.
  • Experience with some programming languages and willingness/ability to learn.
  • Advanced execution capabilities and ability to adjust quickly to changes and re‑prioritisation.
  • FIX protocol knowledge.
  • Unix proficiency.
  • SQL knowledge.
  • E‑trading experience (connectivity, market data, financial markets).
  • Intermediate coding skills (nice to have).
Education
  • Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience.
