Joining the Application Support Team, as an IT Application Support Consultant, you'll be helping to support a wide range of complex applications used across Hampshire County Council, with a focus on Social Care and Education.
The successful candidate will be positive and enthusiastic with a flexible attitude and excellent interpersonal skills. You'll be working in a dynamic environment supporting business critical applications. You'll have a background of working in IT, supporting and configuring business applications, any knowledge of Local Authority business processes is an advantage.
You'll have effective problem-solving skills to manage and resolve complex support incidents.
You'll be willing to take the initiative and prioritise tasks, and have the ability to translate technical knowledge into practical support.
The focus of the team is application support for Hampshire County Council across the Directorates, predominantly Adults Health and Care and Children’s Services. We work on compliance, analysis, configuration, and testing of changes alongside the business as usual support of these critical systems.
The candidate should have experience in 1st to 3rd level user application support, ideally within local government or the public sector. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, a customer-focused approach, and effective communication across all levels are essential. You should be flexible across IT functions (support, administration, analysis, development, and testing) and able to work well with external suppliers. A commitment to data accuracy, IT security, and collaborative teamwork, including mentoring and training, is also required.
