Could you bring your Air Traffic control experience to the Home of British Helicopters? We’re looking for a suitably qualified and experienced Air Traffic Control Officer (ATCO) to join the team, based onsite in Yeovil – Somerset. As part of the wider Flight Operations UK department, you will join a small, dedicated team of professionals who are responsible for managing the safe and efficient movement of aircraft to keep the airfield safe every day.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe, orderly and expeditious air‑traffic control service in accordance with CAA regulations and local procedures in support of the Leonardo Flight Test programme.
• Assist the SATCO with the day‑to‑day running of the ATS department.
• Provide expertise to a working level in the relevant CAA & MAA documentation.

Qualifications

• UK CAA approved ATC licence with validated Aerodrome Control Instrument (ADI) and Approach Procedural Control (APP) ratings.
• UK CAA Class 3 medical certificate.
• English language proficiency endorsement of level 5 or above.
• Full UK driving licence.

Desirable (but not essential)

• On‑Job Training Instructor (OJTI) endorsement.
• Aeronautical Meteorological Observers Certificate.
• Previous Military ATCO experience.

This role is subject to pre‑employment screening in line with the UK Government’s Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS). An additional range of Personnel Security Controls referred to as National Security Vetting (NSV) may apply, including the eligibility requirements for The Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV).
