We’re looking for experienced Air Traffic Controllers to join our professional, close‑knit team at Bournemouth Airport. Operating within Class D airspace, you’ll manage a diverse and demanding traffic mix across a wide range of flight profiles and procedures. This is a hands‑on operational role offering real variety, responsibility, and the opportunity to work in a dynamic airport environment.
You will hold a UK CAA‑issued ADI licence (APS desirable) and be required to validate at Bournemouth Airport as part of your continued employment. You will have a UK Class 3 Medical (or be able to meet the standard) and meet ATCO English Language Proficiency Level 5 (ICAO Level 5). We are looking for a flexible and resilient individual with excellent communication skills, who can cope with the pressures and demands of this safety‑critical role and adapt their approach as circumstances require. You must also be able to successfully complete a DBS / criminal record check and provide a minimum of five years’ referencing history.
Ideally, you will also hold an APP rating and a Meteorological Observing Certificate. Experience of at least two years as a valid radar and tower controller would be highly beneficial, providing you with the background to operate effectively in a demanding, dynamic air traffic environment.
We provide a competitive salary based on experience and ratings, along with Loss of Licence insurance, life assurance, and a pension scheme. Additional benefits include free on‑site parking while on duty, free airport parking for holidays (subject to availability), a Cycle to Work scheme, and staff discounts at airport retailers, restaurants, and World Duty Free. High‑quality training is also provided to support your continued professional development.
