We are seeking a highly motivated and organised AGRICULTURAL MACHINERY TECHNICIAN to join our dynamic team at our COCKERMOUTH Country Store and Machinery Depot. The Job
  • Providing hands-on technical support in a busy workshop and out in the field.
  • Working closely with the Workshop Foreman to ensure smooth operations and top-tier service.
  • Taking ownership of the Customer Care process, keeping our customers engaged and satisfied.
  • Ensuring Dealer Standards are met and maintaining a clean, efficient workspace.
  • Supporting the Workshop Manager in achieving targets and identifying new opportunities.
  • Collaborating with the Parts Department, sales team, and other branches to keep everything running like clockwork.
  • Diagnosing and repairing complex faults in machinery and equipment.
  • Performing pre-delivery inspections, scheduled maintenance, and safety checks.
  • Preparing and assembling equipment for repair or installation.
  • Maintaining and repairing hydraulic and electrical systems.
  • Compiling repair proposals and delivering cost-effective solutions.
  • Handing over machinery to customers with confidence and clarity.
  • Adherence to Company and Group policies and procedures, including but not limited to those relating to Safety, Health and Environmental.
  • Ensuring that all relevant legislation and approved codes of practice are adhered to in respect of ongoing compliance, including but not limited to UFAS, FIAS, and NOPS assurance schemes.
Qualifications

Essential:

  • A strong technical background in agricultural machinery, power tools or similar agricultural equipment.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a passion for customer service.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well across departments.
  • A team player who is just as comfortable in the workshop as they are on the farm.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with an appreciation for our customer base.
  • Organised and able to work using own initiative.
  • Knowledge of Agriculture.
  • Flexible approach to work and willingness to take on additional responsibilities.
  • Team player with a genuine interest in helping others.
  • Holds a full UK driving licence.

Desirable:

  • Confident and competent user of Microsoft applications systems and fully IT literate.
  • Previous experience of using CRM, IBCOS or similar software.
