About The Role

Location: The Topaz Centre SARC, Nottinghamshire

Salary: The payment rates for this role are a shift retainer of £40.11 - £51.57 Monday‑Friday and £51.61 - £67.91 Saturday‑Sunday, plus an additional attendance payment of £46.50 per case. £15.50 Call‑Out rate per hour.

Rota Patterns: The shift pattern is 08:00–18:30 and 18:30–08:00; you will also be able to cover days, nights, and weekends.

The role of Crisis Worker is critical in providing victims of sexual assault with the dedicated support and care required. Acting as the advocate for patients who attend the centre, you will empower service users to feel in control and be able to support them during the forensic process to manage patient care pathways.

Key Responsibilities
  • 1st point of contact for service users.
  • Support the process of a service user and their family visiting the centre, including preparing the patient and assisting in the collection of forensic evidence.
  • Ensure a high standard of DNA anti‑contamination is maintained between forensic cases (cleaning).
  • Assist patients and liaise with other agencies regarding the management of the service user pathway.
  • Assist with preparation, service user support and act as an advocate during their time at the SARC.
  • Be a key player within the SARC team and the wider company network.

  • Because of the nature of the Sexual Offence Examiner, applications are invited from females only. This post has a genuine occupational qualification under the Sex Discrimination Act, Section 7(2)b and 7(2)e.
  • Whilst the position may be based from one location, additional travel may be a requirement of the role across SARC's; therefore a UK driving licence is required for this role and access to a vehicle.
  • Advanced DBS and level 2 Police vetting will be required.
